Glass & Ceramics Show + Sale
I curated and designed Glass & Ceramics Show + Sale, an exhibition showcasing local ceramic and glass artists.
An annual gallery exhibition featuring local and student artists’ hand-crafted ceramic and glassworks. It was unique as it combined the educational aspect of a museum with the information on pottery and glass art creation and combined it with the sales aspect of a gallery. This hybrid environment engaged patrons to not only become more interested in this craft but purchase the works and become collectors. This focus on education and choosing talented and innovative artists in this field produced a very successful exhibition.
There were about 500 objects in the exhibition. The objects were thrown pottery: plates, bowls, vases, cups, mugs, and hand-blown glass objects: vases, bowls, plates. New items accepted for this exhibition were porcelain and ceramic jewelry.
